CASE STUDY
Meals on Wheels Plus, Inc. in Abilene, Texas has two buildings that were damaged during a severe hail storm in 2014. We were fortunate that the insurance company assigned Angel Luis Mercado as the adjustor to work with us. Shortly after the storm, Angel made a personal visit and thoroughly investigated the properties. He talked with me about the hail storm and the damage to the two buildings. He then spent time carefully inspecting the buildings and asked several questions about what he found. Before he left, he explained all of the steps of the process so we would know both what was expected from us and what to expect from the insurance company.
When we received a copy of the written report that Mr. Mercado prepared, he contacted me to see If we had any questions. He also told me that if we found that the cost of repairing a particular area was higher that the amount he entered on the estimate, to let im know and he would reevaluate it.
During the months between his first visit and the completion of repairs I contacted him numerous times by e-mail and/or by phone. He was always prompt in responding to my questions and was able to explain things in a way that was easily understood. We had to request several extensions form the insurance company and each time Angel quickly presented our request to the insurance company, was able to get the extensions for us, and reported back to me.
Angel is courteous, professional, extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. He exhibits concern for the policy holder while at the same time representing the interests of the insurance company. Displays a high ethical standard, is friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend Mr. Mercado as an adjustor.
