Mr. Angel Mercado, MBC Public Adjusters, has contracted with the Bank for the last three years working as a Public Adjuster representing the Bank in insurance related issues Mr. Mercado works with the Bank pursuing insurance claims both with our insurance carriers and external carriers. He has worked on hail claims, flood claims, and auto claims for the Bank. He is also proactive in his approach and provides services such as assessing and reporting on building systems such as roofs and HVAC units before they are damaged so that we have a baseline of system condition.
Mr. Mercado is very professional in his dealings with the Bank and his dealings on our behalf with insurance carriers. He assists us in understanding what coverages we have by knowing our insurance policies and how best to apply those coverages throughout the claims process. Mr. Mercado maximizes the coverage by completely analyzing the depth and breadth of the damage. He will not look just at a building system and say yes this is damaged and needs to be replaced but analyze the subsystems and substrata to assess if the damage is more than superficial. As an example, for a flood claim he not only looked at the obvious damage done to the facility (e.g. carpet, wall, cabines, etc…) but at the impact on the furniture and how replacing a piece here or there was unacceptable but that a “pairs and sets” approach would be more consistent with the terms of the policy. This allowed us to restore our facility to its condition pre-flood.
Mr. Mercado also uses technology to stay ready to pursue claims. Whether it is the weather app that determines where, when, the size, and amount of hail that fell on an area or an infrared thermography camera to see beneath and through the roofing to determine possible water damage. This use of technology helps the Bank make business decisions on potential insurance claims.
Through his diligence, Mr. Mercado has captured a significant amount of additional insurance funds that we otherwise would have missed if managed internally. I highly recommend Mr. Mercado and MBC Public Adjusters.
